| Wendy Lisogar-Cocchia 's Tips For Staying Sane | |
| 1. | Be passionate about what you do. Considering that you spend most of your day working, it is really important to enjoy what you do, and get pleasure from it. Find out what your passion is and pursue it. It is possible. |
| 2. | Make sure you exercise and take care of yourself. Exercise will make you feel much better physically, but more importantly, it will balance things in your head. |
| 3. | Make sure that the people in your life, both personally and professionally, share the same philosophies and values that you do. You can't have your staff doing something because the boss told them to; it must be because they believe it too |
| 4. | Read books that can change your life. Others can put things down in writing that you may feel but had never been able to express. Certain books can focus and clarify things for you, giving you a launch pad to spring from. |
| 5. | Spend time with mentors who will inspire and encourage you. My male mentor is Peter Legge, the President of Canada Wide Publishing, who is the most positive, realistic, inspirational person I know. I love the fact that he puts family first and work always has to come second. My female role model is Grace McCarthy who has incredible class, made it in a man's world on her own terms and whose philanthropic endeavours are so admirable. She is spearheading BC Kid's with Crohn's Disease, which we donated money to this year. |
