Carol's Tips
1. I keep a day diary. I call it my brain. I keep a family calendar, and I coordinate the two. I only allow one calendar in the house, and it has to go by the phone. The idea is that anyone who's pick up the phone, is staring at the calendar. It keeps a semblance of order.
2. I have a cell phone but only my family and very few friends have the number. Whenever it rings, it's personal. That's one way of separating the two parts of my life.
3. We eat together as a family which I think is important. It's not always totally possible. When I come home, Ken and I spend half an hour just chatting. Often we take a cup of tea and sit on the front doorstep. It's a deprogramming, a transition from getting rid of the work stuff, and being home. It's like creating an oasis. You have to consciously do it.
4. Have a lap-top so you can work outside.
5. Dress the part.
